Mirova welcomes three new members to its mission committee

August 23, 2024

Mirova, affiliate of Natixis Investment Managers dedicated to sustainable investing, announces the renewal of its mission committee and the appointment of Isabelle Juppé as Chair.

In 2020, Mirova chose to become a mission-driven company1 to structure its responsible approach and make it known, but also to demonstrate that the role of a management company extends beyond fiduciary responsibility, and is part of a desire to profoundly transform the economy towards a fairer and more sustainable model.

Beyond the inclusion of its “raison d’être” and its environmental and social objectives in its status of association, Mirova thus created the mission committee composed of complementary profiles representative of the company’s stakeholders: academics, experts on investment themes, representatives of the sustainable finance sphere, shareholders and employees. Their role: to analyse and report on the execution of the company’s mission, but also to encourage the continuous improvement of Mirova’s expertise, products and commitment actions. In accordance with the provisions of the Pact Law2a mission report is published each year to report on the progress of the company with regard to the defined objectives.

In June 2024, the committee welcomed three new members, including Isabelle Juppé, appointed by the board of directors on the proposal of the general management.

Composition of the mission committee as of June 2024 for a 2-year term:

  • Isabelle JUPPÉ, Chair (newly appointed), Journalist, author, former director of sustainable development and CSR (Lagardère)
  • Jean JALBERT (newly appointed), Director of the Tour du Valat, Vice-President of the French Committee of IUCN, Vice-President of the Conservatoire du littoral et des Rivages Lacustres
  • Christophe LANNE, Director of Administration, Asset and Wealth Management, Natixis Investment Managers
  • Pierre-René LEMAS, President of France Active
  • Arnaud LEROY, Director of Sustainable Development, Communication and Institutional Relations - SPHERE
  • Witold MARAIS, Investment Director, Energy Transition Infrastructures, Mirova
  • Alexis MASSE, Strategic Director GRDF
  • Manon SALOMEZ, ESG Analyst, Mirova
  • Blanche SÉGRESTIN, Coordinator of the Research Chair in Corporate Theory, governance and collective creation models at Mines ParisTech
  • Amina ZAKHNOUF (newly named), Co-founder of the public policy incubator “Je m’engage pour l’Afrique”

“I warmly thank Isabelle Juppé for accepting my proposal to take on the Chair of the committee, and am confident that her career and experience will benefit our impact commitments. We are delighted to welcome Isabelle, Jean and Amina to our mission committee to contribute to our strategic roadmap and ensure that the alignment between Mirova’s investment practices and our mission is always preserved.” Says PHILIPPE ZAOUATI, CEO of Mirova.

“I have immense respect for companies that have made the demanding choice of mission-driven status. Mirova was one of the pioneers and I am delighted to be able to accompany the mission committee in this new mandate, which, given the economic and geopolitical context, is subject to an increased number of challenges. Surrounded by a team of experts in their fields, I hope to help carry out the mission Mirova launched in 2020. Adds ISABELLE JUPPÉ, Chair of Mirova’s Mission Committee.

“I am convinced that the arrival of our three new members, Isabelle Juppé as Chair of the Committee, as well as Amina Zakhnouf and Jean Jalbert, will allow us to take further steps to further strengthen the role of our mission, which is a structuring lever of our positioning and development, both in France and internationally.” AUDE ROUYER, HR, Culture and CSR Director at Mirova.

1 Article 176 of the Law of 22 May 2019 on the growth and transformation of companies, known as the Pact Law, introduces the status of a company with a mission. It allows a company to publicly report on the quality of the company with a mission by specifying its raison d'être as one or more social and environmental objectives that the company sets itself the mission to pursue as part of its activity.
